Hey, My name is Kim :) I am a student and I love to write and listen to music and just generally be around people. But, my brain tends to run at a million miles a minute so here I will try to make that better :) Welcome to the Abyss that is my mind :D I hope it is interesting.... Kimmie <3 Read the Printed Word!

Day 19… Monopoly

Hey Guys :)

I hope that everyone is well.

I just wanted to talk about the McDonalds’s Monopoly game. It really is a great advertising strategy. Once a year Mcdonalds pulls out the big guns and gives a lot of little things away. Really a few dollars here and there mean nothing when compared to the millions of dollars that they make when people play just to get those stupid little tabs. The simple chance of winning a free frappe keeps people coming back.

I know this is working because I suddenly want to keep going to McDonalds just for the tabs. I didn’t realize that I was doing this until the other day. Me and the boy went to McDonalds for lunch after school and the first thing I did was check and see what I got in those stupid little tabs… (the boy got a free frappe and I got a couple of game pieces.)

I think that it is a very interesting psychological phenomenon…

Day 18… ITS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!

Hey guys :D

I know its late but you are still gonna get a post :)

I’ve been really busy the past couple of days. School, the boy and birthday are keeping my brain occupied. Though that is a good thing. I like to be busy.

For my birthday I had school, work and a surprise from the boy :D

School was good. I didn’t was actually able to concentrate surprisingly…In my Comics class we talked about Truth: Red, White and Black. (which is a great comic btw) In my Baroque architecture class we reviewed for or midterm next week. (Speaking of which…I need to study -_-)

The longest part of the day was work. I only work 3 hours…but it seemed like the longest three hours of my life. This was because I knew that the boy was going to pick me up and take me to the surprise right after work.

The closer and closer to 2:30 it got the more anxious I got. I started to fidget and I couldn’t pay attention to my work. All I could think is “Where are we going?” That is until he sent me a text message giving me a hint and my cogs started to turn.

At 2:30 he picked me up and he took me to Color Me Mine. For the majority of people who don’t know what it is, here is a brief description. Basically it is a place you can go to and paint pottery. You pick out whatever you want and paint it. When you are done the people who work there will fire it and it is ready 6 days later :)

I made a mug shaped like a witch and a reindeer ornament…Ill post pictures for everyone to see on Wednesday when I get them…

Day six…. Date night, California Rolls and the CMP

Hey guys :)

I hope everyone is doing well. I know that this posting is a little late but special circumstances made it impossible for me to post last night.

Yesterday I was going all day. During the day I was moving and at night the boy and I decided to make a date night out of my school assignment.

For my Photography class I had to attend an exhibit opening at the California Museum of Photography. The exhibit is called Seismic Shift. It was an interesting exhibit, though it wasn’t really the kind of photography that I enjoy.

After the museum we went to a little sushi place that is right by the CMP. It was warm and welcoming and while we were in there the atmosphere was perfect. The boy ordered a dinner entree that came with 8 pieces of California rolls and 7 pieces of sushi. I got the shrimp and veg tempura plate. Both of our dishes were amazing; and the Miso soup that came with is was delicious.

But, the one thing that we ate all of was the California Rolls. They are the basic “intro to sushi” sushi, but they are delicious. For anyone that hasn’t the awesomeness that is the California Roll, I will describe it. Inside it has Avocado and Imitation Crab. That is wrapped in seaweed (don’t knock it till you’ve tried it) and then covered in sticky rice…ah it so good. The salty flavor of the crab and the seaweed is perfectly balanced with the sweet of the Avocado and the sticky rice.

Date nights are important to a healthy relationship. The reason is that, in our society, we run around and keep ourselves way to busy. Eventually we begin to not appreciate our partner for what they are really worth. Date nights allow for a couple to throw everything out the window and just have fun together. They don’t have to worry about anything because they are focused on the person that they are with. I feel like date nights are important to any relationship. Even if you can only do it once a week, having a date night is a piece in keeping a couple happy :)

school readings

hello all!

today was an interesting day…I was late to one of my classes and I discovered that school reading isn’t actually too boring, you just have to be interested in the subject and accept that you arent going to understand everything….but isnt all reading like that? The better stories dont tell you exactly what they are saying right away. If anything they make you ask questions and figure it out alone. I want to write like that. I want people to want to know what the characters are thinking and question what they will do next.

But that is no easy feat…

til next time

As Harry Potter was the only other thing I was passionate about, the doctors gave consent for me to leave the hospital and collect the fifth Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, from the local book shop. I was so ecstatic to have the book and excited to begin reading it, but there was never any hint of your imminent arrival and the way you would change my life so drastically. Luna, you instantly captivated me. I didn’t know why but there was something about you with your upside-down magazine, straggly blonde hair, and the honest, abashed way you stared at people without blinking that fascinated and perplexed me at once. You laughed hysterically at one of Ron’s quips and didn’t stop to excuse yourself and feel ashamed when it became clear that everyone found you strange. Throughout the book, I found myself waiting for your brief appearances and wanting to know more about you and why you were the way you were. You baffled me, not because you were odd (though indeed you were), but because you were… perfect. But it was a different kind of perfect to the perfectly thin, smiling magazine girls I simultaneously idolised and reviled. It was the way you carried your oddness like it was the most natural thing in the world. You didn’t market your oddness as your defining feature the way some insecure teenagers do, in guise of confidence and security. And nor were you oblivious to the awkward and uncomfortable feelings your oddness provoked in others. When, unable to comprehend how you wore your oddness so honestly and unashamedly, your peers reverted to mockery and bullying, you recognised this as a reflection of their own deep-seated insecurity and calmly let them carry on, quite above your head. You weren’t trying hard to present a certain aspect of yourself that would boldly identify you in the world. And that’s when it occurred to me how bizarre and positively ridiculous it was to apply the word “weird” to describe you, when you represented the most natural and unpretentious state possible to be; you were yourself.

Wow, Evanna Lynch is a really good writer! (Preorder Dear Mr. Potter. I’ve got a letter in there, too!)
